come on pioneers (2007) is the second album from the Norwegian band soup, and the first one properly released. the first album “give it an empire” (2005) was only produced in an edition counting 50 copies. The third and last album “children of e.l.b.” (2010) was written by Erlend Aastad Viken, but co-produced with Hans Magnus Ryan from Motorpsycho and performed as a band with drummer Sverre Leraand, bass player Rune Leraand and guitarist Ørjan Saur.Come on pioneers was recorded, mixed and mastered by Viken in his own bedroom over a period of two and a half years. it was first released january 2008, financed by Viken himself, but then re-issued on the indie label How is annie records in may/june 2008. The second edition of “Come on pioneers” was a eco-friendly issue with its recycled paper cover and little envelopes containing pine seeds.
